Already Chosen (Ephesians 1:11-14)

Ephesians 1:11-14 (NLV)

11 We were already chosen to be God’s own children by Christ. This was done just like the plan He had. 12 We who were the first to put our trust in Christ should thank Him for His greatness. 13 The truth is the Good News. When you heard the truth, you put your trust in Christ. Then God marked you by giving you His Holy Spirit as a promise. 14 The Holy Spirit was given to us as a promise that we will receive everything God has for us. God’s Spirit will be with us until God finishes His work of making us complete. God does this to show His shining-greatness.

I can recall going to my grandmother’s house in Jamaica and looking up at her huge mango tree.

My cousin would go to the tree and closely examine the fruit that she had her eye on for weeks.

At the most perfect time she plucked the fruit from the tree and that was that! It was hers.

As I think back to that beautiful tree, I am reminded of the beautiful smell of the freshly gathered fruit in the morning, how sweet they tasted especially when they had been in the fridge, cooling, sweet and refreshing in the hot tropical sun.

It came to mind that none of those mangos had to prove anything, they didn’t have to try to be a mango and neither did they have to pray to remain a mango.

They were already the fruit of that tree by nature not by effort, there was no straining, they were simply being who they were created to be.

We could learn a valuable lesson from my grandmother’s mangos. You and I were already chosen by Christ Jesus to be the children of God.

You and I were already chosen by Christ Jesus to be the children of God.

Simply MichMich

We simply are who we are by the supernatural nature of God within us. We are who we were created to be, we don’t have to strain, we simply have to be.

As we accept who we are and join with Christ and discover and fulfill our purpose we release such a sweet aroma into the world around us.

As my cousin eagerly anticipated her fruit, she was unaware at the time, that she was demonstrating a picture of the works of Christ.

Jesus has had His eye on us for a very long time, unbeknownst to us, He already claimed us, and we were already His long before we were saved and that is that!

Our focus scripture Ephesians 1:11-14 tells us that it wasn’t an afterthought, this was planned; we were planned and wanted by our Heavenly Father and He rejoices over us with singing (Zephaniah 3:17)

No matter what your human history may be, your spiritual ancestry is firmly established and comes from the heart of our Heavenly Father.

You are marked with the Holy Spirit as a promise from God that you have inherited everything from God and He will surely give all that He has for you at the most perfect time.

No matter how you may feel about yourself or the circumstances that surround you, the truth is you are already chosen by God, His eye is upon you and He will see you through.

May your week be blessed with the truth that you are already chosen, let’s give God our heartfelt gratitude, thanks and praise for His plan that is bigger than we could ever imagine.

This is God’s word spoken in love. Remember The LORD our God, He is good and His mercies endure forever. May the blessings of the LORD overtake you and come upon you and His love surround you, for His glory. Have a blessed week. In Jesus Name.

Be a blessing and share this with someone who needs to hear this today.
