God Goes With You (Deuteronomy 31:6)
6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
Deuteronomy 31:6 (KJV)
Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you could only do so much? And you have come to end of yourself, then a supportive and strong-willed friend or family member steps in to accompany you?
There’s a comfort in knowing that they would say or do what you couldn’t at your time of need, on your behalf.
They would take the baton and run the race or fight the battle as though it were theirs and they would stand up for you.
We’ll this family member and friend is our Lord Jesus Christ!
In this scripture Moses is encouraging God’s people, he knows that he has to pass the baton over to Joshua to lead the people of God into battle in order to be established in the promised land.
When we study the name of Joshua we find that his name means Yahweh is Salvation and it is such a beautiful blessing to find that the Hebrew definition of Jesus is exactly the same. Jesus = Yeshua, meaning The Lord is Salvation.
Joshua is a picture of Jesus delivering and leading the people of God into the promise, doing and going where others could not.
Each of us has something that we are trying to achieve, overcome, be or do that we could identify as our personal land of promise; something that God has promised you, it may take a battle and it may take a season of waiting and wondering.
We thank God for Jesus who is the Son of God, our Deliverer and our Saviour whatever we face. God goes with us, His spirit resides inside of us, whatever we face we don’t face it alone.
This week be of good courage, our ‘new beginnings’ are often disguised as ‘the end’, however the resurrection power of God is strong within you even if you may feel otherwise. Your land of promise beckons you closer let Jesus lead you in, let’s give thanks to God for that!
This is God’s word spoken in love. Remember The LORD our God, He is good and His mercies endure forever. May the blessings of the LORD overtake you and come upon you and His love surround you, for His glory. Have a blessed week. In Jesus Name.
Be a blessing and share this with someone who needs to hear this today.
