The Author Knows the Ending of the Story (Hebrews 12:2)

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hebrews 12:2

Have you ever started to watch or read a good mystery? Sitting on the edge of your seat or turning pages non-stop trying to figure out who did it?

If you’re anything like me I have strong suspicions right from the start, I even try to guess by who has made themselves noticeable or who appears to be quite unremarkable yet highly visible.

However, I am never 100 percent sure until the unveiling of the truth at the end, to which I usually exclaim “I knew it!!!” or “Woah, I did NOT see that coming!!”

The one person that knows the end for sure is the author of the book or the writer of the script.

The bible says that Jesus is the author and the finisher of our faith, this is very encouraging for us because not only is Jesus responsible for authoring His gospel but also, He is responsible for authoring our assignments i.e. the thing that He has given us to do in the earth for His Kingdom.

Here is the best bit, He is also the person responsible for ensuring that it will be completed as we co-labour with Him. Even if he has to wait, and has to use generations upon generations of a people, God always gets His way in the end, He is the author and finisher of our faith.

When things get bumpy along the way, let your soul be at peace look to Jesus and remain calm, keep going back to Him to find out what to do next. After all He’s the one that has written the story.

As we prepare ourselves for the week ahead let us take some time to ask Jesus what He wants. As we peacefully go about our day, I pray that The Holy Spirit will be able to speak to our spirit in such a way that we are able to hear clearly the instructions that He whispers in His still small voice from within.

May you find the answers and the direction that you seek.

This is God’s word spoken in love. Remember The LORD our God, He is good and His mercies endure forever. May the blessings of the LORD overtake you and come upon you and His love surround you, for His glory. Have a blessed week. In Jesus Name.
