The Peace of God (Philippians 4:7)
Philippians 4:7
7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Have you ever seen a guard vigilantly on duty watching out for trespassers? They look a little intimidating, don’t they?
Thinking about it, I never thought that peace could be something that is intimidating, the two don’t usually go together.
However, the word of God has assigned peace a particular duty, the peace of God has been assigned the duty to guard our hearts and minds.
I have learned that the peace of God takes this assignment very seriously. The full force of Heaven is behind it.
The peace of God should be very intimidating to the one that tries to remove it, steel it or trespass against it, because the consequences of trying to come against God and His heavenly host is eternal.
Now I understand why, as soon as the peace of God shows up, worries, torments, stresses, strivings and anxieties flee.
The peace of God is a guard like none other, but the peace of God requires our co-operation, we have to partner with God, we have to desire to fulfil God’s purpose and plan for our lives.
Now, our desires must be given to us by God as we spend time delighting in Him, remaining in His presence (Psalm 37:4)
Our hearts and our minds remain intact, we cannot cajole or arrest the peace of God and demand that it obeys us, no, the peace of God goes where He sends it, to aid His children.
So, as we pray to God, think upon the things that are true, noble, pure, lovely and of a good report, virtuous and praiseworthy (Philippians 4: 8-9), the anxieties of life and self-indulgence that could overload us and threaten our salvation in Christ Jesus are sent running for the hills.
This week partner with God, let the peace of God stand guard as you get on with praising, loving, delighting in God, blessing others being of a good service. Let’s thank God for sending His peace to guard our hearts and minds that causes others to marvel and wonder how we are still standing. It’s the peace of God. Glory!!!!
This is God’s word spoken in love. Remember The LORD our God, He is good and His mercies endure forever. May the blessings of the LORD overtake you and come upon you and His love surround you, for His glory. Have a blessed week. In Jesus Name.
Be a blessing and share this with someone who needs to hear this today.
