Through Christ Who Strengthens Me (Philippians 4:13)
Philippians 4:13
13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
One of our greatest strengths is our ability to recognise and gladly accept the truth that we have our weaknesses, and we are totally reliant on God.
We have to make our peace with the fact that we are not strong in every area of our lives, the word of God did not say that we can do all things by ourselves.
The word of God clearly lets us know that this strength is going to come through our connection to Christ Jesus.
In the world we were rewarded with the kudos of public opinion if we were ‘self-made’, but we are not self-made God created us and has a plan and purpose for each of us in His Kingdom.
It is not shameful to be happily reliant on God, in fact, until we come to this full revelation, we may find ourselves fighting against the tide, kicking against the pricks like the apostle Paul before his encounter with Jesus (Acts 9:5-6).
Could it be, that some of the struggles we’ve been facing, is because there is a failure to relinquish control of some area of our lives to God?
Are we so convinced that we are doing the right thing that we’ve not checked to see if the motive aligns with the plans and timings of God? Or did we not approach the situation as a dependent child of God?
Sometimes it’s not that we are doing the wrong things, it’s that we may be approaching it the wrong way, with the wrong attitude being reliant on talent, skills and experience and not God. But what good is all of that if we are still leaving God out of the picture.
God wants us to trust Him so much that we truthfully walk hand in hand with Him and trust Him to scrutinise and search out what we are doing.
There is a strength and a peace that comes from consulting the counsel of the Lord ‘first’ and not as an after-thought.
When we walk hand in hand with God, come what may, we are still standing strong even when we feel weak, because it is Christ who sent us and it is Christ who strengthens us.
This week let’s submit ourselves in prayer to God and His plan, let’s repent for any failures to seek His counsel, let’s commit our all to Christ Jesus and ask Him to strengthen us through our weaknesses that we face in life. In Jesus Name.
This is God’s word spoken in love. Remember The LORD our God, He is good and His mercies endure forever. May the blessings of the LORD overtake you and come upon you and His love surround you, for His glory. Have a blessed week. In Jesus Name.
Be a blessing and share this with someone who needs to hear this today.
