Undeserved Favour Given in Love (Psalm 84:11)
11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield;
The Lord will give grace and glory;
No good thing will He withhold
From those who walk uprightly.
Psalm 84:11
Have you ever loved someone so much that you just want the best for them even when they are not at their best?
Maybe it’s your child or a spouse or a sibling? Someone that you love with all your heart. You see their potential, what they could be, if only…
And that’s what drives you, you love them so much and you see that you could help them, and you know how much it will hurt your heart if they fall and you could have done something to help them or protect them or just be there to support them.
If we who are human feel this way with our limited ability how much more the God that created the heavens and the earth?
We don’t deserve the kind of favour that God gives, there may be times when we doubt, when we are unfaithful and still, God shows us favour. He loves you and I so much that He continues to give of Himself and His goodness to help us get to where He knows we should be.
Unmerited favour this is the definition of the Grace of God and without it we could not approach God the way that He has lovingly allowed us to.
In Hebrews 4:16 we are encouraged to come to God’s throne of Grace ‘boldly’, not sheepishly with no certainty that God will receive us, but with confidence that He will help us in our time of need.
His radiant goodness, heavy and weighty, manifesting so that our souls and even our bodies can recognise His glory. These expressions can be drawn from today’s scripture.
In Romans 4:3 the bible says that Abraham believed and it was counted to him as righteousness so, we know that walking upright is more about belief, trust and submission to God than it is about being perfect and doing everything that we ‘think’ is right.
So, this week as we are spending our time with God let’s pray and thank Him for His Grace that He has lovingly given and He has provided us with so much.
This is God’s word spoken in love. Remember The LORD our God, He is good and His mercies endure forever. May the blessings of the LORD overtake you and come upon you and His love surround you, for His glory. Have a blessed week. In Jesus Name.
