Very Present Help (Psalm 46:1)
1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Psalm 46:1 (KJV)
We know that when a roll call is taken, the person would usually call out each name, to which the named individual would respond, “Here!” or “Present!” There would only be silence if that person was absent.
We are learning in our walk with God, that silence does not mean the absence of God.
With God there is no danger of calling the name of Jesus only to find that He is absent, gone off somewhere playing truant, asleep or too busy to pay attention to us.
The word of God has promised that He will never leave us nor forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6) and He is the omnipresent God meaning that He is everywhere.
In this scripture we are reminded that God is our refuge; He is our safety and shelter from the pursuit of danger, our covering, our healer and the one who sustains us when we become weary on our journey.
When we experience hardships, it can get difficult to sense God in the way that we may be used to because our senses and our thoughts may initially be bombarded by our difficulties.
Rest assured, God is present and not only that, He is helping us to overcome and helping us to come out of the situation better than how we entered it. We may be going through something but with God we come out the other side!! Amen!
He is not surprised by our situation, neither is He scrambling around trying to find a solution; He already knows the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10), and He knows the exact point at which you and I overcome. In the meantime, we are growing, and becoming wiser and stronger, giftings, skills and experience are being birthed in us.
Humility, patience, compassion and love are coming forth out of us and our character is beginning to show the fruit of the spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).
The trouble that we face will not last, no matter how stubborn, it is not more steadfast than God. He will see you through.
God is reminding us this week that He is present even when we can’t sense Him, He is right here with us. As we place this week into His hands let’s thank God for always being here for us and to ask Him to give us the grace to continue on beyond how we feel in the tough times.
This is God’s word spoken in love. Remember The LORD our God, He is good and His mercies endure forever. May the blessings of the LORD overtake you and come upon you and His love surround you, for His glory. Have a blessed week. In Jesus Name.
Be a blessing and share this with someone who needs to hear this today.
