While We Were Still Sinners (Romans 5:8)
Romans 5:8
8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Have you ever watched someone prospecting for gold? Especially when they are using a metal detector? I love to watch those TV shows from time to time, the person hears a sound on their equipment, and they begin to dig in the earth until the most precious gold nugget is found.
They rejoice and celebrate over this little piece of metal, it is misshapend, it is still covered in dirt but they don’t care. Even in it’s raw form before it is refined by the fire, moulded and made into a beautiful piece of jewellery it has tremendous value.
The dirt can’t diminish the value, the raw form can’t take away from what it is. It’s gold through and through.
Simply MichMich
The dirt can’t diminish the value, the raw form can’t take away from what it is. It’s gold through and through.
You are gold through and through, while we were yet sinners God still loved us, He gave us value. Just like those pieces of metal rock covered in the earth, until someone came along and placed a market value upon the price of gold it was just another raw piece of material in the ground.
Jesus was tortured, died and rose from the dead for us, to the glory of God! He has given us to Jesus as His inheritance along with the kingdoms of this earth (Psalm 2:8 & Rev 11:15). We have tremendous value and there is great rejoicing in Heaven every time a sinner repents and comes home to God (Luke 15:7 & 10).
Do not allow the situations that you may find yourself in, dictate your value to you (whether favourable or not). In the sight of God, you are already His precious treasure worth dying for regardless of whether the sun is shining or not.
Keep walking, learning and growing in God, there is a turnaround and a breakthrough, there are depths of intimacy with the Holy Spirit that brings about a true change in our heart and our character.
There is victory over everything that we go through as we keep coming back to Jesus. Whether limping or leaping, as we turn to Him despite the opinion we hold, He will get the glory out of this! And if we suffer with Christ God promised in His word that we will also glory with Him (2 Timothy 2:12 & Romans 8:17).
This week, as the season may bring about emotions, thoughts and feelings that God welcomes us to process with Him in our intimate time with Him, let us give thanks to God for loving us and keeping us.
Let us give thanks to Him for ensuring that the things that we have faced and are facing do not get to dictate our value (whether pleasing or not). Our God has given us our value and while we were still sinners, He died for us.
Your value in Christ Jesus is great, for His glory!
This is God’s word spoken in love. Remember The LORD our God, He is good and His mercies endure forever. May the blessings of the LORD overtake you and come upon you and His love surround you, for His glory. Have a blessed week. In Jesus Name.
Be a blessing and share this with someone who needs to hear this today.
