The little girl in the cartoon stood, her little hand clutching the hand of her favourite rag doll, it swung inanimately beside her as she positioned herself in front of the fierce bullies out for blood.
She stood, shoulders squared, chin up, index finger pointing at them with a mean look on her face, she meant business as she told them off.
She hadn’t noticed the large superhero standing behind her, but the bullies sure had. They began to quake in their boots and shake with fear, they’re reaction made her all the more confident in her conviction.
As she put her hands on her hips and stamped her foot the superhero flexed his muscles, and the bullies ran for their life. The little girl stood triumphantly as she saw the bullies run for the hills.
When a person is backed by God pictures of this nature may come to mind. In this scripture, God is reassuring His people that we shouldn’t be afraid, even though the thing that we are facing is great. He is God! And He is greater!
God will give us strength and He will help us to make it through whatever we face and also the greatest part of this promise, is that God will uphold us with His right hand of righteousness.
Biblically, the right hand signifies strength, and not only that, the right hand of God also signifies victories, wars won, outward works of His power.
God is connecting His previous triumphs with our moment of need. As we look toward our week ahead, whatever you face be encouraged that God has given you the victory. He is standing behind you, upholding you; when life is going on around you and you just can’t quite find a minute or the strength to catch up. Rest in the God who will back you up, strengthen you and work His triumphant hand in your favour. Turn it over to Him be confident in your conviction that God is in control!
This is God’s word spoken in love. Remember The LORD our God, He is good and His mercies endure forever. May the blessings of the LORD overtake you and come upon you and His love surround you, for His glory. Have a blessed week. In Jesus Name.
