Devotional His Glory Shall Be Seen On You Isaiah 60:1-3

His Glory Shall Be Seen on You (Isaiah 60:1-3)

Isaiah 60:1-3

1 Arise, shine! for thy light is come, and the glory of Jehovah is risen upon thee.

2 For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the peoples; but Jehovah will arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen on thee.

3 And the nations shall walk by thy light, and kings by the brightness of thy rising.

Isaiah 60 is a very well-known piece of scripture, the call for us to arise and shine is echoed throughout the body of Christ in song and in word from generation to generation and rightly so, it is a very encouraging word from the Lord.

When we spend time in this scripture, we can summate that God is describing His light and glory in two distinct ways. In verses 19 and 20 we see the light and glory of the Lord bringing illumination; being an everlasting light poured out upon His people like the sun and the moon but greater.

A little earlier in this scripture we also see the Lord God describing the effect of His light and glory in another way which is where we are going to concentrate.

In verse 1 to 3 we could look at the light and glory of God as a beacon; a strong and focused light put high in a prominent place to guide, signal, warn, and establish safety.

Much like the beacon on top of a lighthouse, the glory of the Lord is placed upon His people so that others may find their way to Him.

Verse 3 in particular begins to speak of this: β€œ3 And the nations shall walk by thy light, and kings by the brightness of thy rising.”

A lighthouse stands out, it is always set in a prominent place very high up, it is not supposed to blend in, it can’t, and to do so would go against its purpose.

The lighthouse is not traumatised or moved by the storm, nor is it tormented by the darkness. It stands firm and goes to work shining for all to see.

The lighthouse is not traumatised or moved by the storm, nor is it tormented by the darkness. It stands firm and goes to work shining for all to see.

The darker it gets, the more it becomes evident; the more evil the times become, the more distinct the beauty of holiness becomes.

Holiness is no longer considered a loathsome restriction, but its purity and discipline become an attractive comfort and lifeline to those who are afar out adrift in the darkness tossed to-and-fro by the boisterous waves of turmoil and chaos.

Now it makes sense to see pictures of a lighthouse used to symbolise the church of Christ Jesus as it has for many years.

Just like the lighthouse, you were built to outlast the storm, you were built to stand out and stand tall, be steadfast and unmoveable always abundant and overflowing in the Lord.

And just like the lighthouse, you were built to shine the light of God for others to find their way out of danger and darkness.

Whether you like it or not; whether you are outgoing or an introvert, the glory of the Lord shall be seen on you. πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯ #Jesus #Devotional #SimplyMichMich Click To Tweet

Whether you like it or not; whether you are outgoing or an introvert, the glory of the Lord shall be seen on you.

Darkness and chaos have a job to do, and so do we. Let’s arise to a new life and perspective, it’s time to come out of the depressive circumstances that have tried to keep us down and let’s shine with the radiance of the glory of the Lord.

This week as we pray and spend time with God let’s remember to take some time to bask in His glory, appreciate how He illuminates even in the toughest of times.

Sometimes the breakthroughs come during the prayer and sometimes the breakthroughs come during the praise and worship and sometimes, the breakthrough comes just by living in spite of…!!

Let’s thank Jesus for the knowledge of His presence and His favour that brings His glory to help us navigate areas that are difficult for us. It’s His strength that keeps us going when we know that we have none of our own.

He will never leave you or forsake you, so remember, no matter how you may feel and no matter how it may look, the light of Christ is with you and His glory shall be seen on you.

This is God’s word spoken in love. Remember The LORD our God, He is good and His mercies endure forever. May the blessings of the LORD overtake you and come upon you and His love surround you, for His glory. Have a blessed week. In Jesus Name.

Be a blessing and share this with someone who needs to hear this today.
