I remember your name in the night, O Lord, and keep your law.
Psalm 119:55
Have you ever stayed up all night? In my youth I had sleepovers, played with friends and watched movies and fell asleep just before daybreak. As an adult one of the jobs, I had involved keeping watch all night until daybreak.
Two things I found to be true, number one, when you watch the time it feels like it is passing so much slower than it actually is. Number two, the saying is true that it really does seem the darkest right before the day breaks.
With these two truths in my arsenal, along with my relationship with God and the Word of God I’ve learned to approach my night seasons differently than when I was first born again.
I make a determined stand to ‘remember through the night’. I remember that the night can’t win. It can’t stay night-time forever, eventually the day has to break. I see the darkness and remind myself that it gets really, really, dark right before the morning light shows up.
I am reminded of the scripture Psalms 30:5 … weeping may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning.
The enemy of our soul would have us believe that the night seasons last forever, not so!! The morning light is coming, hold on and don’t give up.
Speak the Word of God to the darkness and command “Let there be light!!” Stay on the night watch until you see the day break.
Remember that you have a God that loves you. Call upon our Lord Jesus in the dark times and He will listen to you and strengthen you.
Main Takeaway:
While we go about our daily lives this week let’s ask God to help us to remember through the night seasons, to speak light in the darkness and to strengthen us as we call upon Him.
This is God’s word spoken in love. Remember The LORD our God, He is good and His mercies endure forever. May the blessings of the LORD overtake you and come upon you and His love surround you, for His glory. Have a blessed week. In Jesus Name.
