Devotional A Propitiation By His Blood Romans 3:24-26

A Propitiation By His Blood (Romans 3:24-26)

Romans 3:24-26 (NKJV)

24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, 26 to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

“Foul play!!!” This is usually what is shouted by the supporters of any team when there is unfair conduct during a game such as an illegal tackle or a referee or an official doesn’t pass a fair judgement.

The implication would be that there has been an injustice and the official has looked the other way and has not awarded what is right and just to the appropriate side.

Foul play is also the term used to describe a criminal act of treacherous and harmful behaviour that results in serious damage, injury or death.

And ‘foul play’ is the accusation that would’ve be made against God if He had forgiven mankind for our sin without judgement and awarding a penalty as a just payment. That would be the equivalent of looking the other way.

There is no foul play here, the wages for sin is death (Romans 6:23), this is what sin demands and this is what Jesus paid. God did it for us, because God loves us! 💖 #JesusDiedForMe #ChristianDevotional #SimplyMichMich Share on X

This is the importance of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, our Heavenly Father shows His grace, love, mercy and righteousness in allowing His own son to be sacrificed. There is no foul play here, the wages for sin is death (Romans 6:23), this is what sin demands and this is what Jesus paid. God did it for us, because God loves us!

We humbly receive this beautiful gift by faith.

Simply MichMich

Through the death of Jesus on the cross at the hands of mankind the greatest gift was given to the same said mankind. Sin was not just covered; sin was removed from us.

Jesus is the ‘satisfactory sacrifice’ in other words Jesus is the ‘propitiation’ by volunteering to shed His blood on the cross.

We who believe, have repented and have given our life to Christ Jesus are justified by the blood of Jesus; and when the matter of our sin is brought before God, He sees the blood of Jesus and recalls that this sin has already been judged.

There is no foul play! We don’t need to try and add or subtract from what has been done. We humbly receive this beautiful gift by faith.

This week let’s walk in the righteousness of God and not our own (for we have none in comparison) let’s thank God for making a way for us to be redeemed and justified. We chose not to take it lightly or for granted. Let’s draw near and thank God for the propitiation by the blood of Jesus.

This is God’s word spoken in love. Remember The LORD our God, He is good and His mercies endure forever. May the blessings of the LORD overtake you and come upon you and His love surround you, for His glory. Have a blessed week. In Jesus Name.

Be a blessing and share this with someone who needs to hear this today.

Take Care x
