Trust God to Turn it (Proverbs 21:1)

Proverbs 21:1

1 The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord,
Like the rivers of water;
He turns it wherever He wishes.

Have you ever seen a river flowing in one direction and then at a certain point it just goes still? Or have you seen a river that looked like it was still but there was an undercurrent?

In this scripture, the author is using a natural thing such as the unpredictability of the way a river flows to describe to us how God can change a situation.

No matter how bad things get never underestimate God! Things can turn in a heartbeat. ❤️ #jesus #christianmotivation #simplymichmich #devotionallife Share on X

No matter how bad things get never underestimate God! Things can turn in a heartbeat.

An undercurrent is one of the most understated natural phenomena yet it is remarkable and can be so dangerous.

A river can look beautifully serene and still, like nothing is happening at all. Meanwhile under the surface there is a current flowing that can sweep a person away, so strong they would be unable to fight against it.

When we are dealing with the purposes of God, there is so much more to consider than just our immediate comfort.

Sometimes we have to endure hardships, heartbreak and brokenness so that we are positioned and postured to be efficient for the eternal matter at hand.

Sometimes it’s an issue that has been caused by human error, disobedience or an attack of the enemy but lift your head up, God works ALL things together for the good of those who love the Lord who are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).

It may look like nothing is happening or that nothing is going to happen but there’s an undercurrent brewing.

Here’s the thing, the hardship doesn’t last forever, although when we are going through… it sure feels like it (just being real). It may look like nothing is happening or that nothing is going to happen but there’s an undercurrent brewing.

Be encouraged by the word of God and pay attention to what God said about the river, at any time the river can change course. You may not have had the favour in the sight of someone that you felt was important but don’t worry, God can change the heart of the king…

Our job is to remain in faith in the meantime; do and be who God called us to be, God is able to make the change even if the change is supposed to happen within us and not the other person. Trust God to turn it!

This week as we draw closer to the changes in the season, let’s praise God for loving us enough not to let us remain comfortable in stagnation. Let’s thank Him for stirring up the deep waters under the surface, no matter how painful, let’s take this opportunity to show forth our faith in the God that is able to turn it around.

Also let’s ask God for the manifestation of His grace to help us to remain steadfast no matter what we are facing. You see, that ability to remain steadfast no matter what, is not a personal strength, that’s a supernatural enablement given by God.

This is God’s word spoken in love. Remember The LORD our God, He is good and His mercies endure forever. May the blessings of the LORD overtake you and come upon you and His love surround you, for His glory. Have a blessed week. In Jesus Name.

Be a blessing and share this with someone who needs to hear this today.
