Continuous Abundance of Goodness (2 Corinthians 9:8)

8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.

2 Corinthians 9:8

Abundance is not just about having a lot of a certain thing; abundance is about having a great amount along with an overflow, more than enough from a never-ending source.

The picture of a waterfall comes to mind when I think of abundance. Mainly due to the large amounts of water flowing and cascading over the ledge. This analogy of a waterfall goes deeper than first imagined.

When I studied the waterfall a little closer, it had an even greater significance as a symbol of abundance, especially when it comes to the source of the water.

God has been so good to us in ensuring a continuous cycle of water in the earth and its atmosphere. When we think of an abundance of water many of us may only think of water in its liquid form in large bodies of water such as the ocean, lakes or rivers and even creeks and springs.

However, God has given us an abundance of water in many different forms such as fog, mist, dew, rain, snow, ice, and so on.

Sadly, due to our lack of knowledge or maybe effort, we might neglect the dew or the fog, etc. in favour of finding a river or a spring; preferring the result of groundwater that has been accumulating and trickling down over many years and many miles over the abundant provision of water in another form.

It is God that created the water and the sun that brings about evaporation from the oceans that produces clouds that in turn produce the rain. He is also the same God that allows the cooling condensation of mist in the valleys and fog and dew in the land.

Our amazing God is our source and sometimes we fail to recognise that He has placed abundance in many forms around us. πŸ™πŸΎπŸ’• #jehovahjireh #jesuslovesyou #simplymichmich Click To Tweet

Our amazing God is our source and sometimes we fail to recognise that He has placed abundance in many forms around us. Some of it is obvious and some of it requires spiritual intervention and revelation, and some of it even requires creativity and ingenuity to pull it out of thin air just like the morning dew.

For example, there are brilliant designers that have created simple structures to harvest the morning dew, mist, and fog before it evaporates and turns it into drinking water. They are producing water for households even in places that appear to be dry and arid.

Now back to our waterfall! It is fed by many different forms of water all joining together to bring an abundance. Some of it is groundwater such as springs, some coming from rain and monsoons in their season in some regions. Some of it is condensation such as fog and mist that hasn’t evaporated and some from rivers, streams, and even creeks from melting snow in some areas.

All of these different types of water have been placed there for us in plain sight so that we have all we need and therefore can do good works abundantly without hindrance. Not just water but everything we need, it might not look like we expect, it might be a mystery set aside only for us, hidden in plain sight for our eyes only.

So, my question to you is what provision has God placed in multiple forms around you that you have not yet become aware of? Could it be that you are looking for large bodies of water in liquid form, yet God has given you the morning dew that hangs in the air requiring creativity and ingenuity to get the harvest?

This week as we prepare to go forward in faith let’s thank God for His provision that He has lovingly provided for us. And ask God in all His goodness to open our eyes to see the provision He has provided for us in all its forms for the season that we are in.

This is God’s word spoken in love. Remember The LORD our God, He is good and His mercies endure forever. May the blessings of the LORD overtake you and come upon you and His love surround you, for His glory. Have a blessed week. In Jesus Name.
