Do You See Jesus Approaching? (John 1:29)

29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

John 1:29

Sometimes we have trouble recognising the Messiah in the mess. What looks like trouble and heartache, can often be a catalyst for change that Jesus will make use of to take you to another level of blessings, a new direction or deliverance and growth in Him.

Notice that I said that “Jesus will make use” I did not say that Jesus “sent” the difficulty. The bible says that God works all things together for the good of those that love the Lord and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).

So, good or bad God works ALL things together for our good because we love Him and we serve His purpose and not our own. John the Baptist saw Jesus approaching and immediately recognised that He was the Messiah.

Can we recognise the Messiah in our sad moments? Or do we only recognise God when there is an obvious blessing in front of us?

How do we approach God when we’re not sure if it’s Him in the midst?

Let’s make a point of asking God to reveal Himself to us when we are in difficulties and even when it seems to be obvious. This week let’s pray that God give us the grace not to take His presence for granted and to seek him out where He can be found. Let’s thank Him for always working things together for our good and also lets request that He bless us with the ability to recognise Him and trust Him.

This is God’s word spoken in love. Remember The LORD our God, He is good and His mercies endure forever. May the blessings of the LORD overtake you and come upon you and His love surround you, for His glory. Have a blessed week. In Jesus Name.
