John 16:33
33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
Have you ever had someone try to give you advice or give you directions but when you asked them if they had gone to that place before they told you that they hadn’t?
There should always be an appreciation and love for when people try to help us. We are grateful for those that just have a heart to help even though they themselves have never dealt with the things that we may be experiencing.
There is, however, a certain type of help that is called experiential help. This is the kind of help that comes from someone that has gone on before you, been through some things, went to hell and back and came to tell you how they overcame!
This is the kind of help that Jesus is offering, He didn’t sugar coat things, He let all of us know that things would be difficult, after all we are living in a fallen world. However, He let us know that we cannot be defeated on the basis of this fact.
The reason being is He has literally been to hell and back and He has overcome the world. So, whatever you are going through He knows where you’re at, He knows how you feel, He knows what it’s like to be fully human encountering these things.
And best of all, He knows how to overcome!!
He gives us His peace in these times because in Him He has given us an advantage, not an avoidance. He has given us His resurrection power!
This resurrection power that He obtained through His death on the cross, when the Holy Ghost rose Him up out the grave. He didn’t get it for Himself, He did it for us.
There are some things that we cannot and will not be able to avoid, but hold on to the peace that Jesus gives, get ready it’s not over something is going to happen, the outcome will be uncommon.
Are you facing a situation that requires the kind of resurrection power that stares those death situations in the face and says “bow to the name of Jesus!”?
Maybe the onlookers and the naysayers thought that you were down and out, or maybe you or a loved one are dealing with a crisis, Jesus went to the cross so that you would overcome, because He overcame!
We overcome not just when the trumpet sounds, when He returns. Consider this, every time we refuse to stay down but get back up calling on the Name of Jesus for strength, peace and a breakthrough.
Every time we give a sacrifice of praise in the midst of our troubles, we are proclaiming the power of Jesus Christ, His resurrection and His triumph over death and the grave.
The resurrection of Jesus Christ was not just a one-off event, it is a lifestyle in a world that is constantly trying to bind and bury so many in grave clothes.
Be of good cheer, we overcome! We are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus! 💖 #Jesus #Devo #SimplyMichMich Share on XBe of good cheer, we overcome! We are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus! It doesn’t mean we won’t cry; this is a normal human response to grief and heartbreak but through the tears there is peace and comfort that Jesus is close to you feeling what you feel and because of Jesus you will overcome.
This week let’s thank God for the peace that Jesus brings, in Him we overcome. Let’s ask for the continued manifestation of what He has already given so that He will be glorified when we remain steadfast and unmovable, staying in the peace of Jesus.
This is God’s word spoken in love. Remember The LORD our God, He is good and His mercies endure forever. May the blessings of the LORD overtake you and come upon you and His love surround you, for His glory. Have a blessed week. In Jesus Name.
Be a blessing and share this with someone who needs to hear this today.
Take Care x
