Devotional O Magnify The Lord With Me Psalm 34:3

O Magnify the Lord with me (Psalm 34:3)

Psalm 34:3 (KJV)

3 O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.

Have you ever researched an item that you intended to purchase and then you saw the item everywhere you went? Maybe it was a car or an appliance…

Whatever you concentrate on strongly, becomes magnified in your sight and you become more aware of it. The truth is, those items were there before you became interested however, because you hadn’t taken a deep interest in them, they went undetected by you.

The stronger the concentration of interest, the greater the magnification, in fact magnification lenses themselves are measured by their strength (and it’s called ‘Diopter’).

The moment you start to take a deep interest into something or someone they become magnified to you. You start to notice interesting things about them, you start to see the items all over the place, you become sensitive to the intricacies of the person or thing.

This too can apply to God, He is here with us all the time, the moment we decide to take a deeper interest into Him, the more He becomes magnified in our sight. He doesn’t get bigger; He is already vast and beyond measure, we just become more sensitive to the intricacies of Him.

To say it another way, He is magnified in our sight; just like using a magnifying glass, it doesn’t make God bigger, it just changes our view to see Him in different ways.

When we gather ourselves together to concentrate strongly on the Lord by singing, praising, worshipping, reading His word and listening to a message or sermon, we are lifting God high above our feelings, our situations and our circumstances; we are exalting our God.

To exalt something or someone is to relate to them and esteem them to be in a higher position. God already is the highest and greatest, He is the Most High God, therefore when we join into our services online or in person, we are exalting God. When we decide to say Hallelujah!!! Instead of complaining we are exalting our God.

When we sacrifice in our giving and give Him the praise even though we may be feeling hurt or down or in pain we are exalting our God and He treasures and honours this.

It doesn’t make Him transform or become more of who He is, we are the ones who are transformed (Romans 12:2). We make more room and space in our lives; our thinking, our processing, our emotions and our outlook to receive from Him.

That is a blessing indeed, no wonder the writer said “O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together!!

It is wise not to focus on the negative strongly, otherwise it will become magnified in your life.

This week let’s concentrate strongly on the Lord in our times of devotion, prayer, reading and worshiping and praising God in a personal way. In an intimate way, that draws us to receive an intimate response from Jesus that gives us the special insight that He wants us to have only by the Holy Spirit.

That is the key, some try to get the insight from human effort, research and striving, but God wants to give it to us through a relationship with us by the Holy Ghost. Will you let Him brood over your life? Will you let Him move within you at the word of the Lord?

It is wise not to focus on the negative strongly, otherwise it will become magnified in your life. We want the intricacies of God’s goodness, mercy, love and grace not the intricacies of trouble pain and distress, I’m sure many of us have had more than enough of that in our time.

This week we switch our focus, O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together, in Jesus Name Amen.

This is God’s word spoken in love. Remember The LORD our God, He is good and His mercies endure forever. May the blessings of the LORD overtake you and come upon you and His love surround you, for His glory. Have a blessed week. In Jesus Name.

Be a blessing and share this with someone who needs to hear this today.

Take Care x
