Devotional For He Cares For You 1 Peter 5:6-7

For He Cares For You (1 Peter 5:6-7)

1 Peter 5:6-7 (KJV)

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

I watched a cute couple in the grocery supermarket the other day. The wife was very determined to get as much done in as shorter time as possible, moving efficiently through the aisle.

The gentleman moved at a slower steady pace, stopping to thoughtfully peruse the BBQ sauce selection at the condiment stand.

That was until he saw his wife out of the corner of his eye about to attempt to lift a very heavy bag of rice and put it in the trolley.

He quickly moved and lunged forward with lightning speed shaking his head, I could hear Him saying “No, no, no, you leave this to me, let me do this.” There was so much care and consideration in his approach.

This got me thinking about 1 Peter 5:6-7 How many times do we struggle with the heavy thing unnecessarily because we are so determined to do things by ourselves in our own understanding.

God has given us the Holy Ghost and yet there are times when we busy ourselves with the burdens of life when Jesus has been gently calling us to prayer and fasting, times of refreshing and devotion in His sweet presence.

We, however, seem more content to lift the heavy bag of rice when our Bride Groom is saying to us “Come to me all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28-29).

Here’s the thing, the wife had the ability to lift the bag but it may have cost her dearly through injury when she didn’t have to, her husband was right there ready to do the heavy lifting.

I ask the question where in your life have you suffered a costly injury by trying to carry the weight unnecessarily? Jesus is right here ready to do the heavy lifting. God has provision set aside within you that you have no idea about.

I repeat the provision is “within you”, things that can only be uncovered or revealed when in deep prayer and listening to Him. God has instructions but He doesn’t come cheap, real revelation born through intimacy with God costs time.

So then, the question we have to ask ourselves is, do we want to pay by suffering through our own outlook or pay by spending time in God’s sweet presence?

God wants to blow your mind with the sweetness of His awesome goodness 💖🙏🏾 #Jesus #Devotional #SimplyMichMich Click To Tweet

God wants to blow your mind with the sweetness of His awesome goodness. We have to get to the stage in our lives where we are more determined to experience that loving, caring, consideration and awesome goodness of God than to be determined to lift that heavy bag of rice.

Do you want to continue to struggle to do the impossible or do you want to see God glorify His name and throw His weight around as He does the impossible?

When we are as determined to see the glory of God for His name sake as we are to see the situations in our lives resolved. That’s when things really start to get interesting. There will be a shift, because the matter becomes about the glory of His name and the integrity of His word.

God is not a man that He should lie neither is He the Son of man that He should change His mind, He speaks, and it’s done! He makes a promise, and He fulfils it (Numbers 23:19).

God is serious about His word, He told Jeremiah that He will watch over His word to perform it (Jeremiah 1:12) God has also magnified His word above His own name (Psalm 138:2) and His word lasts forever (Matthew 24:35).

God is protective over His name, He spoke through the prophet Isaiah when dealing with the stubbornness of Israel and said, “For mine own sake, even for mine own sake, will I do it: for how should my name be polluted? I will not give my glory to another…” (Isaiah 48:11).

God has provision set aside within you that you have no idea about.

God is well equipped to deal with every stubborn thing in your life, even the heart-breaking things, He will not give His glory to that situation because it is not God. He is God and at the name of Jesus every knee must bow, and every tongue must confess that He is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:10-11).

Side with God concerning His glory, submit and humble yourself and seek for Him to be glorified and see what God will do. He works all things together for our good because we love Him and we are the called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).

This week let’s ask God to help us to grow in intimacy with Him, and ask God to show us how to let Him do the heavy lifting so that He may be glorified in our lives for His name sake. For He cares for you.

This is God’s word spoken in love. Remember The LORD our God, He is good and His mercies endure forever. May the blessings of the LORD overtake you and come upon you and His love surround you, for His glory. Have a blessed week. In Jesus Name.

Be a blessing and share this with someone who needs to hear this today.

Take Care x
